Technical case study on rooftop solar and rainwater quality — field and laboratory methodology, an in-country mission, and stakeholder workshops for the Tuvalu Climate Change Department.
Pacific Regional Ocean Energy Readiness Programme (PROERP)
Development of the Pacific regional framework for ocean energy for the Pacific. We develop a bankable, GCF/AIFFP-aligned regional ocean-energy programme, known as the PROERP , endorsed by Pacific Energy Ministers at PRETMM6 (2026)
Nature-Based Solutions Guidelines (PPIN)
Developed nature-based solutions guidelines for resilient agriculture and forestry, and reviewed coastal and forestry policies to strengthen NbS implementation across Tonga.
Tonga NDC 3.0 Review
Reviewed Tonga's NDC under the Enhanced Transparency Framework and built the mitigation pathways, indicators and MEL frameworks, through to government validation.
Accelerated Energy Transition — Technical Assistance
Coordinated all 12 Pacific Island Countries — assessing grid conditions, renewable pipelines and integration challenges to shape ADB/AIFFP-aligned investment plans.
TVNUP Environmental & Social Safeguards
Completed the Initial Environmental Examination, Environmental & Social Management Plan and consultation plan for the Grid Enhancement for Sustainable Energy Transition project
Rooftop Solar Grid Feasibility
Assessed distribution-network capacity and grid readiness, engaged solar suppliers and IPPs, and developed the commercial and grid-integration models.
National Climate Change Policy
Developed national climate change policy covering energy-sector mitigation and adaptation priorities.
Nuku'alofa Network Upgrade — Safeguards
Delivered the environmental examination, management plan and safeguards monitoring for a cyclone-resilient grid upgrade — including ecological surveys of mangroves and wetlands.
ISLANDS — Waste Management & Pollution Control
Coordinated technical assistance to climate-proof landfills and waste-transfer stations, upscale recycling, and manage end-of-life vehicles under the ISLANDS project.
National Energy Data Management Review
Reviewed the national energy data management system, mapped institutional data flows, and aligned recommendations with Paris Agreement transparency and EU donor standards.
Single-Use Plastics Phase-Out Roadmap
Delivered Tonga's Single-Use Plastics Phase-Out Roadmap through legislative review, fiscal-instrument analysis and multi-stakeholder consultation.
Ridge to Reef Phase 2 — Project Preparation
Led environmental, social and gender safeguards, stakeholder engagement and co-financing to complete the GEF full proposal for the Fanga'uta Lagoon Stewardship Plan.
NDC 2.0 — Monitoring & Evaluation Framework
Reviewed the JNAP2 M&E system and developed the monitoring and evaluation framework for Tonga's 2nd NDCs to the Paris Agreement.
